asked questions

We're here to take on your custom home build with the confidence and clarity you deserve. If you have any questions that aren't covered here, feel free to reach out to us!

What exactly does Scopewell Residential do?

We act as your independent advisor throughout the custom home build process - helping with budgeting, builder selection, contract reviews, timeline oversight, and issue resolution.

Are you a builder or a contractor?

No - we’re not a builder. We represent you, the homeowner, providing oversight and guidance throughout the entire process.

Do you work with my builder or replace them?

We work alongside your builder, but we’re hired by you. Our role is to protect your interests and ensure you're getting what you expect.

When should I hire Scopewell?

As early as possible - ideally before you sign a builder contract. We offer the most value when we can help shape scope, budget, and expectations from the start.

Can I still hire you if construction has already started?

Yes. We often join mid-project to help get things back on track, clarify communication, or resolve specific issues.

How much does your service cost?

We start with flat-fee packages, and in some cases offer percentage-based pricing depending on project complexity. Book a consult to get a custom quote.

Will my builder be okay with this?

Most experienced builders respect homeowners who want professional support - as long as roles are clear. We’re not here to micromanage, just to protect your build.

What areas do you serve?

We currently serve homeowners in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and offer virtual consulting in select markets.

What’s the difference between Scopewell and a general contractor?

GCs manage construction for the builder. We work for you - helping you understand your options, track progress, and hold everyone accountable.
